The Institute for Biodiversity, Ecology, Evolution, and Macrosystems (IBEEM) conducts critical interdisciplinary science to understand and predict biotic responses to global changes including short and long term climate shifts, intensified climate extremes, and anthropogenic land use changes.

Macrosystems Science recognizes that in order to study natural phenomena, we must quantify these phenomena and their drivers at multiple scales because there are inherent interactions and feedbacks among these phenomena ACROSS SCALES.
